Dr. Tigran Khachatryan is a neurovascular specialist with extensive experience in clinical practice and academic research. He graduated summa cum laude from Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) in Armenia, where he began his neurosurgery residency in 2009, earned his Neurosurgery board certification, and completed his PhD in 2012. To further advance his expertise, Dr. Khachatryan pursued fellowships in Vascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at leading international institutions, including the Georgia Neurosurgical Institute (USA), Louisiana State University (USA), and Tübingen University (Germany).
He played an important role in establishing endovascular neurosurgery in Armenia—a contribution recognized with the President’s Prize of the Republic of Armenia. In 2012, he was also honored by the Ministry of Health as the Best Young Physician of the Year. After seven years as an assistant professor at YSMU N1 University Hospital, Dr. Khachatryan relocated to the United States, where he completed an Internal Medicine Internship, a Neurology residency, a Vascular Neurology fellowship, and an Interventional Neurology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Neurology and Vascular Neurology and is eligible for CAST certification through the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Khachatryan’s clinical and research interests focus on vascular and endovascular neurology, as well as innovations in medical technology. He holds two U.S. patents and has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications.
